With over 10 years of experience in the professional meeting planning industry, Amy Orr has planned events ranging from 30 – 2000 people.  Prior to establishing her own event planning business, Amy served as Director of Meetings and Events at the California Chamber of Commerce for five years.  In this role Amy was responsible for planning and implementing special events including: top-level Board of Directors Meetings; Legislative Receptions; annual Business Legislative Summits; Business Luncheon Forums; annual conferences for Local Chamber Executives; and the Sacramento Host Breakfast which features the Governor as keynote speaker each year.  Other special events she has been involved with include President Bush’s visit to Sacramento; Luncheon with José Maria Aznar Lopez - President of Spain; 2003 Inauguration Luncheon for Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger; Luncheon with the President Paul Kagame of Rwanda; and Breakfast with President Vicente Fox of Mexico.

She is experienced in site & venue selection, hotel negotiations, contract analysis, event marketing, and logistics planning.  Amy's strong relationships with suppliers include hotels such as the Four Seasons, Ritz-Carlton, Marriott, Hyatt, Hilton and Starwood.  She became a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) in 2005 and has also been an active member of Meeting Professionals International (MPI) since 2001.  Currently she is on the board of the Sacramento/Sierra Nevada Chapter of MPI – a network of meeting and event professionals in the region - as Vice President, Communications. 

Prior to joining the California Chamber of Commerce, Amy worked for the California Grocers Association as membership manager and was involved in planning special member events throughout the year and at their annual conference in Las Vegas.  Amy began her career in the meetings industry in Colorado Springs with General Merchandise Distributors Council (GMDC), a non-profit association for the Grocery industry, where she was an event registrar for bi-annual events drawing over 1200 people from the industry.
